Park School Senator May 2012 - May 2013
Ithaca College's Student Government Association (SGA) represents the student body and acts a liason between the students and the administration. I was elected to represent the Park School students and ensure that their concerns and suggestions were being well represented. In addition to this responsibilities, senators are also required to serve on a variety of campus committees.
Park School Senator Responsibilities:

Attend and contribute to all senate meetings

Work on multiple committees, both internal to SGA and external to campus-run committees (detailed below)

Regularly communicate with Park Students about the school's policies

Co-sponsored a bill recommending the repeal of a college-wide media policy that negatively impacted students

​Discuss proposals to improve the climate of Ithaca College's campus

Plan and host events in conjunction with IC Spirit Week

​Create awareness of all SGA plans and initiatives

Parking Appeals Committee:

​Review parking ticket appeals to assess whether the group should grant or deny the appeal

Academic Policy Committee, Curriculum Sub-Committee:

​Review proposals for all Ithaca College courses under review

Assess courses for compliance with Ithaca College's new Core Curriculum

Provide a student's perspective regarding course descriptions and attributes, as well as prerequisites for courses, majors, and minors

Academic Advising Center Search Committee:

​Interview candidates for positions within Ithaca College's new Academic Advising Center

Discuss problems Ithaca College students face in regards to academic advising

Provide feedback to the Vice President of Academic Affairs regarding the candidates
